CP Insurance Associates (CPIA) is a service-oriented insurance agency that provides solutions tailored to our clients' needs. We partner with financial Institutions, property investors, and auto dealers to offer comprehensive insurance coverage, tracking services, and professional insurance products safeguarding the collateral in your portfolio. As a managing general agency, we have the flexibility to step into any insurance area to find the solutions and services needed to protect your business.
Our History
1977
Founded in Huntsville, TX, Collateral Protection Insurance Associates began as a specialized lender placed insurance agency. Serving a variety of clients, including auto dealers, banks, and credit unions, CPIA also offers insurance processing and tracking, escrow services, and claims processing.

2019
In July of 2019, CPIA entered the Investor Property Insurance business. Partnered with independent insurance agents, we offer coverage to investors who own 5 or more residential rental properties. Beyond offering competitive insurance pricing to investment property owners, we also deliver excellent service to our independent agents.

2022
The purchase of an insurance agency from the Independent Bankers Association of Texas in November of 2022, allowed us to once more expand our offerings. Through this specialized team, we offer professional insurance products including directors’ and officers’ insurance, errors and omissions insurance, cyber security insurance, business property insurance, and more.

2024
Most recently, CPIA has contracted with a company offering tax tracking services for real estate property. This dynamic service is critical for many financial institutions and has added incredible value to our offerings.
